          Project Number: 2020 -1-TR01-KA229-092387

Project Summary

Technology is developing rapidly, especially in the field of robotics.

Robots will be found in many different industries in the future, and as robotics begins to play a larger role everywhere in the world and in our own lives, its environmental impact will be more noticeable.

Environmental problems are one of the main problems affecting the whole world.

The project aims to develop students' 21st century skills by challenging environmental issues and empowering environmentally friendly robots

Robot activities can be adapted to the needs of students because of their flexibility.

This is why educational robots such as LEGO and VEX have become popular among high school students.

Teachers, on the other use the impact of technology-oriented STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) enriched content and skills training in their classes.

With robotics and environmental experience, Turkey, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, Spain and Macedonia have tried as six schools to be environmentally friendly schools, fulfilling the EU 2020 goals.

The climate change and energy targets, which are the main issues addressed in the EU 2020 strategy, are defined as;

-To reduce greenhouse gas emissions 20% lower than the gas emissions of the 1990s

-To obtain 20% of energy from renewable energy sources

- 20% increase in energy efficiency

In line with the EU 2020 goals and Erasmus + priorities, we want to increase the cleanliness and protection of the environment in our educational environment and outside, using educational robots as an important tool in the development of planned activities to increase digital competence.

Regarding the Europe 2020 strategy (to reduce underachievement in reading, mathematics and science below 15%), needing , including science and technology in education. we want to develop a model in our institutions and contribute to the sustainable growth of our countries.

Therefore, our goals in this project are:

1-Helping students to focus on issues related to the natural environment (renewable energy, recycling, climate change, etc.)

2-Working with educational robots to find solutions to environmental problems

3-Breaking down negative prejudices about robots and finding solutions to global problems using educational robots

4-Sharing good practices / experiences of being environmentally friendly schools

5-Strengthening our teachers' professional profiles

6-Learning cooperation with different cultures

7-Increasing students' academic success in STEM classes using learning robots (VEX, LEGO EV3)
